Pump up the Volume

Despite being tired as a worn out shoe, I’m up in the small hours with a cup of chamomile tea for company. Apart from the obvious and most unwelcome  interruption to my beauty sleep, this little attack of insomnia is also going to play havoc with my gym routine! I can kiss my early morning pump class goodbye.

However, where there’s a will there’s a way, and sometimes you just have to think outside of the box. Pump is a class for all seasons, and, all hours, so I can flip my routine right on it’s head and go to class at night instead. The downside is that the evening class is a little later than I’d like, but on the up side, the evening class is longer, which will make me leaner! And if all that wasn’t incentive enough, it also means that David does dinner! A rare treat indeed!

The gym is literally opposite our apartment complex which is very convenient for me and, very noisy for the people who live in the units closest to it. Lately, the neighbours have been up in arms at the resounding early morning decibells emnating from the fitness studio. As a result, morning classes have been working out to music so quiet, you almost need a hearing aid to hear it. I don’t like it, but I’ve learnt to live with it, although I have always maintained, I move more if I have music!

So, I’m delighted to discover that the volume restrictions do not extend to evening classes and the instructor can crank the volume up loud enough to break the sound barrier. Music and movement – the perfect partners!
