Wednesday Words of Wisdom – Carry the Load

It’s about this time three years ago, that I was receiving radioactive iodine treatment. I was in isolation, experiencing word tsunamis, with a mouthful of lemon sherberts and reading off the Geiger counter.  I remember  my therapist and the nuclear medicine team asking me how I felt  about the radiation before I had treatment because I was going to be  really radioactive. People die from radiation y’know. But people die from cancer too, and that was my immediate concern. (Remember how I spoke last week, one thing at at time?!)

It was about this time last week, that I had a complete fan girl moment when I guest posted for Dr Sash at From the Left Field  and  spilled the beans about my cancer load and how I bore it. Even you’re not keen to check out my post, you should still bob on over, because Dr Sash’s blog is on fire. It’s that hot. I promise you, you won’t be disappointed.

This quote reminds me of Stacey’s talk at the Kids Business brunch. We can’t always choose what happens to us. But we can choose how we respond to it. I didn’t choose cancer but I did choose happiness. Because it’s good for my health.

Instead of thinking about all the things you can’t do today,  why not focus on the things you can do instead?
