Swap out ultra processed ice cream for these super delicious 3 ingredient sweet treats!
No lie, it’s been hot as Hades in the UK of late and these bite size frozen treats are the sweetest way to cool down!
I’ve seen these bites all over my socials and it’s not often I jump on a social media trend/recipe but these perfectly proportioned frozen sweet treats just sounded too good to resist. Banana and peanut butter is a winning combination in my book and adding some chocolate to the equation hits the taste trifecta.

Side note – one of my favourite sweet treats is a gluten free, dairy free peanut butter banana ‘sandwich.’ Simply slice a banana lengthways, spread the cut side liberally with peanut butter, top with the other slice of banana and chop into pieces for a delicious healthy snack. I like to think these bites are like the peanut butter banana ‘sandwich’ taken to the next level.

These bites my new favourite way to upcycle ageing bananas although if you have an aversion to brownish bananas yellow work just as well. You need just three ingredients, an ice cube tray and a few minutes to whip up these treats – in fact, the hardest part of the recipe is waiting for the treats to set. What are you waiting for?!

Ingredients
1 medium banana
30g peanut butter
50g milk or dark chocolate

How to
- Place a banana chunk into each of the holes in the ice cube tray.
- Spoon 1/2 teaspoon of peanut butter on top of each banana slice.
- Break the chocolate into cubes and place in a microwaveable bowl. Melt in 30 second bursts, stirring each time, until melted and smooth.
- Spoon the melted chocolate over the top, then freeze for at 3 hours. Enjoy the bites straight from the freezer. Once frozen, you can decant the bites and store in an airtight container or ziploc bag in the freezer.
