Taking Stock – September 2025

I know October is well under way but working on the premise that better late than never,
here’s the September recap!

Baking: Chocolate Zucchini Cakes – can’t stop, won’t stop but will share recipe soon!

Making: Gougeres (like cheesy profiteroles) for the first time. It won’t be my last!

Eating: My way through Em the Nutritionist’s delicious recipes.

Drinking: Herbal tea at night instead of Breakfast tea and milk. Game changer!

Wondering: What I’m going to do with all the zucchini I’ve still got so much, LOL!

Sharing: Recipes for my favourite salads – this Tortilla Chip Fiesta Salad is a big hit here!

Joining: Sherry and friends for this month’s In My Kitchen.

Posting: Twice a week – I don’t even know who I am anymore!

Publishing: The last in my Postcards from Palma series – my must try places to eat.

Getting: More excited than necessary about the Autumn bedding!

Squeezing: In two visits to London to see friends and a show.

Taking: Myself in hand and making a big effort to lose some weight.

Knowing: That losing weight is going to be a marathon not a sprint.

Ticking: Athens off my bucket list!

Staying: At the Foundry Suites in Athens, I highly recommend!

Loving: Getting up close and personal with the Acropolis.

Liking: The Goldilocks weather in Athens – not too hot, not too cold, just right!

Disliking: Flight delays but at least the pilots let us visit the cockpit while we were waiting!

Marvelling: At the skill and poise of the soldiers at the Changing of the Guard ceremony.

Wishing: I’d had more time to learn some Greek on Duolingo. I’m back on the French train now!

Celebrating: 6 wonderful years of Teddy Roosevelt on his Gotcha Day. He loved his dog cake!

Watching: Bosch and Bosch Legacy on Amazon Prime. Both series are absolute crackers!

Seeing: One Republic live in Birmingham – what a night!

Crying: Over @simonsits on Instagram – Isabel’s foster dog content warms the cockles of my heart.

Feeling: Ready for cosy season – well, my nails are anyway!

Lighting: The first fire of the season.

Looking: Forward to all the autumn vibes. Autumn is definitely my favourite season.
