Taking Stock – October 2025

October was busy in the best kind of way. I spent time in London, Newcastle, managed a little to escape to the country and had a great time with friends and family both at home and away. The days got shorter, the weather got cooler and I embraced all things autumn. Here’s a little October rewind – let’s take stock!

Baking: More chocolate zucchini cakes – can’t stop, won’t stop.

Making: Not one but two pies for pie night with friends.

Eating: My way through Em the Nutritionist’s instagram feed.

Drinking: Gin and tonic – I feel like such a grown up.

Escaping: To the country to our friends’ barn for the weekend. So much fun!

Joining: Sherry and friends for this month’s edition of In My Kitchen.

Posting: Recipes for this vegan pesto, gluten-free zucchini slice and this maple gochujang glazed butternut squash.

Sharing: Our guides for the best dog friendly Pubs in Stamford and the Best Beer Bites and Coffee Guide in Cologne.

Exploring: Athens and loving it.

Enjoying: An intimate night at our local theatre with Simon and Oscar from Ocean Colour Scene.

Seeing: Counting Crows live – what a treat!

Spending: Some quality time with family and friends in Newcastle.

Getting: Some vitamin sea (while being blown away!)

Hosting: Old friends and giving them the full Stamford experience!

Catching: Up with my dear friend Vicky – all the way from Darwin!

Marvelling: At the views from London’s Sky Garden and it’s free – but you do have to book in advance.

Visiting: Leadenhall Market for the first time. It’s a beaut!

Watching: The Summer I Turned Pretty and loving it.

Reading: Et Tu, Cavapoo? Yes, that’s a real title of a real book!

Loving: The changing colours of autumn.

Liking: Long country walks.

Disliking: Grey days.

Dressing: Up for Halloween. Such fun!

Cherishing: Some quality auntie time.

Going: To the gym – it’s a happy habit.

Losing: Some weight – I really needed to.

Swooning: Over everything in the Christmas shop in Liberty London.

Wondering: Where we should travel to next.

Looking: Forward to November and getting ready for Christmas. Squee!

Now I’ve told you about my October, I’d love to hear about yours. What season is it where you are? What are you looking forward to?
