Crackers and punch, it’s the first of the month! That means not only is it the first day of the advent calendar, it’s also time to link up with dear Sherry and friends for this month’s edition of In My Kitchen.
I didn’t waste a minute Christmas-ing the kitchen. I was especially happy to see all the mugs that I collected last year from the Christmas markets in Cologne.

It’s invigilating season for the mock exams so I haven’t spent nearly as much time in the kitchen as I’d have liked. I have however made it my business to come home for, and eat a ‘proper’ lunch. Em the Nutritionist’s Katsu Coconut Mango Gyoza Bowl has been on high rotation here. It’s just perfect for this miserable weather we’ve been having.

Talking of @emthenutritionist and all her wonderful recipes, I whipped up another batch of her Longevity Minestrone Soup. It may not look like much but it’s full of good stuff and all kinds of deliciousness.

I’m still getting my shopping delivered online and I’m still loving it. This month Ocado popped in a complimentary bag of Marks and Spencer’s Percy Pigs and miracle of miracles, I haven’t even opened them yet! Fun fact – I hear that Percy Pigs are now available in Australia. Woot woot!

On the blog, I posted this recipe for this Healthy Hoisin Salmon Traybake. It’s such a quick, easy and healthy dinner – we have it at least once a week!

Talking of Asian flavours, I also shared this recipe for Pork and Kimchi Stew – eating it is like giving your belly a big hug!

I finally used up the last of my zucchini and shared some of my all time favourite zucchini recipes. This Thermomix Zucchini Relish has been a huge hit with my friends and neighbours – it gives piccalili vibes and I’m obsessed with these Chocolate Zucchini Mini Loaves inspired by our very own Sherry via Nagi at Recipe Tin Eats. They are so chocolicious!

We always buy our free range eggs from Mr Fowler – yes, that’s his real name – and I’ve taken to buying the ‘wonky’ eggs which vary in size and colour. I think they’re perfectly imperfect and this week, I got a big surprise in the egg box. Look at the size of that egg – I bet that took some laying!

We entertained two weekends in a row and I made a big bread pudding just like nana used to make. If I say so myself, it was very good! It freezes really well, so I made it for the first lot of guests and froze a slab for the second set of visitors. Win, win!

The second set of guests were my two oldest friends from school. We actually went to boarding school together and it’s always such a treat to hang out. Just for funsies, we made these no-bake Christmas pudding ‘truffles‘ in my self-titled ‘workshop’ LOL! The girls made them but we’ll all enjoy eating them!

I couldn’t leave TK Maxx without adding these doggy tea towels to my basket – aren’t they cute?

Every year I like to add something Christmassy in the kitchen and this year it was this gingerbread man plate. He was too cute to resist!

I think I was quite restrained in this year’s Black Friday sales and there wasn’t much that tickled my fancy. However, I love my Our Place pan that I got last Black Friday so much, I couldn’t wait to take advantage of this year’s discount and add some more to my collection. These new pans are going to get a lot of use and a lot of love!

Righty ho, I think that’s me all caught up kitchen wise at least! Tell me what’s been cooking in your kitchen!
