Taking Stock November 2025

November was short, sweet and very busy. There was a lot of work, a lot of play and the quintessential pre-christmas preparation. Is it ever too early to kick off Christmas? (Actually, don’t answer that, it’s a rhetorical question!) Anyhoo, November looked something like this…

Baking: Bread pudding just like nana used to make.

Making: These perfect puds with my oldest friends.

Eating: Well.

Losing: Some much needed weight. Still so many kilos to go!

Drinking: Gin and slimline tonic mainly because it’s lowest in calories.

Sharing: 4 recipes this month, who even am I?

Thinking: That this Zucchini Relish would make a great Christmas gift. Just sayin’!

Reading: Jo’s recap of her day in Stamford – such a happy memory!

Posting: My guides for what to eat and drink at the Cologne Christmas Markets and the best baked goods in Athens.

Watching: The first festive films of the season – it’s never too early to start.

Seeing: Jake Lambert live – there were lot of laughs.

Laughing: With old friends. My abs got a thorough workout.

Putting: Up the Christmas tree. I literally couldn’t wait any longer.

Loving: Seeing all the Christmas and Hanukkah decs around the house.

Liking: Cosy nights in front of the fire.

Disliking: Grey days.

Marvelling: At my festive nails – probably one of my all time favourite manicures.

Going: Back to work to invigilate for the month.

Working: With a great gang of peeps.

Wearing: My big bobble hat. There’s no such thing as too big a bobble.

Rugging: Up. It’s been absolutely freezing.

Admiring: The fantastic festive displays at Gates Garden Centre. It’s always a treat to visit!

Enjoying: A wonderful dinner with friends who cooked every dish from the Dishoom cookbook. SO GOOD!

Showing: My Spanish friend Lucy how to make proper English shortbread. Here’s the recipe.

Having: A busy few weeks pretending I have a B and B. LOL!

Hosting: Good friends – it’s always a pleasure.

Using: All the Christmas linens, even in the guest room.

Bookmarking: The best things to see and do in Brussels – our next stop!

So that’s my November in a nutshell. Tell me, how was yours?
