Run this Town

What can be better than running alone? Running with friends! Today, Kitty and I down tools on the dot and pop out for a run. It’s a glorious afternoon for a run in the winter sun. It’s not exactly a hardship, as we zip past the Cathedral, through the Botanic Gardens, around the harbour, including a lap of the Opera House and run all the way from Circular Quay to Darling Harbour and wee, wee, wee all the way to the office. The route is so eye-catchingly beautiful in the twilight sun that I’m tempted to make a photo stop on more than one occasion, but I don’t. Today it’s all about the run!

I clock up a tidy 10km and add that to my tally. I’ve hit the road more often and hit my latest running goal! Yay! Everyone needs a purpose! So I set a new goal – it’s always good to have something to run towards. This month, I’m going to try and run 25km every week. If  the truth be known, I’d like to run more than that, but I have to get real about  my running and take into account free time and available energy!

Nike have started a new campaign called Game on World where you get to compete against other runners in your town and help put your city at the top of the global leader board. It’s nice to know I’m doing my bit for Sydney. Game on, World!
