Taking Stock – June 2025

June was short but mostly sweet despite being incapacitated for half of the month after having trigger finger surgery on my hand! Still onwards, upwards and now a little bit backwards as we go on a whistlestop tour of the month that was.

Baking: Nigella’s Buttermilk Birthday Cake ready for David’s big day in July.

Popping: The birthday sponge in the freezer until I’m ready to decorate.

Cooking: This Honey Mustard Chicken Traybake.

Eating: Recipe Tin’s Wonton Soup – despite the heat!

Drinking: Some really great cocktails.

Showing: My neighbour how to make pot stickers – it’s so easy when you know how!

Posting: The recipe for my neighbour Anthea’s award winning shortbread.

Reviewing: Disneyland Paris’ Newport Bay Compass Club on the blog.

Sharing: My top tips for Disneyland Paris’ Stars on Parade.

Joining: Sherry and friends for this month’s In My Kitchen.

Reading: Marian Keyes My Greatest Mistake – she never disappoints.

Listening: To Scouting For Girls.

Watching: Department Q and Fubar on Netflix. Both very different but very good.

Having: Surgery for trigger finger half way through the month.

Underestimating: How much I needed two hands!

Liking: That I could have the operation at the local doctors surgery – I was in and out in 5 minutes!

Disliking: Being dependent!

Loving: Summer sunshine – just look at those blue skies!

Hoping: Summer hasn’t peaked too early this year!

Enjoying: Working as an invigilator – exam season has kept me busy this year!

Getting: A blow dry – a definite perk of being one handed.

Buying: A portable fan – what a game changer!

Looking: Forward to July and all that birthday month has to offer!

So enough about my month, tell me about yours in the comments.
