The Rain and Balmain

I have a lovely long lie in and then head off for a run in the sun. What a glorious start to a Summer Sunday!

By the time I get home, everyone is up and about and we get ready for a day out in the Sydney sunshine. It’s like something out of Planes, Trains and Automobiles; today we make good use of a plethora of public transport. First we catch the train into the city, then a ferry out to Balmain, which we enjoy exploring, especially when we check out some of the local watering holes. There’s nothing like liquid refreshment on a hot Summer’s day.

The sky is so beautiful and so blue it’s hard to believe that there’s going to be a storm. This time though, the weather bureau are spot on, and suddenly the sky looks dark and dangerous. We catch a bus back to the city and then a train home and just make it indoors, before the heavens open.

We spend the rest of the day relaxing at home, and later have a sumptuous supper consisting of Donna Hay’s Italian Baked Chicken, Perfect Roast Potatoes, some steamed veggies and we still find some space in our stomachs for some more of that Sour Cream and Blueberry Cheesecake Slice . It’s too delicius to resist!
