Time for Valentines

Wowee zowee! I can’t believe it’s that time of year again! I know it’s a lot of commercial claptrap but I’m a sucker for the day of  love. I just love it! (Excuse the pun!) Fortunately, David and I don’t have to wait until 14th February every year to say “I love you,” those three little words are bandied around fairly frequently between us, but it’s just nice to wake up and smell the roses (well, I would if I had some, hint, hint!) and feel the love, not just from partners but friends and family too!

However, today I start with loving myself! So, this morning, I treat myself to a full body workout at the gym at Kristy’s 6.15 pump class. It’s awesome. I pump well, work hard and sweat much! It’s an awesome start to the day. David and I exchange cards when I get home, and then we have to say farewell as he has an early morning meeting. The person who planned that one must be hopelessly unromantic!

The day flies by at work and I’m super busy. However, tonight I can kick back and relax as I have a night off the cooking carousel, and instead, I’m off out for dinner. Yay! I race home and when the whole family is accounted for, showered, changed and in their best bib and tucker, we head off for a middle eastern valentines feast at Safi; one of our favourite local restaurants. We’ve had many marvellous meals here. David and I have a little laugh as we remember our last visit, not long after my surgery, when I was still walking like an Egyptian and drinking wine through a straw. We’ve come a long way since then.

Maureen and Bryan are good sports and taste a whole heap of new foods they’ve never tasted. It’s a culinary adventure! As always the food is fantastic, the wine is flowing, the service is superb and tonight, the company is love-ly! A divine valentines!
