Taking Stock – February 2024

February was full of fun, friends and food – the perfect recipe for a marvellous month. I’m ready to fully embrace the march into March but first let’s take stock of the month that was.

Baking: A chocolate chip bread pudding – oh, so good!

Making: Langos – almost as good as the Budapest version!

Cooking: My way through the Recipe Tin cookbook – so much delicious!

Eating: This delicious lamb shank pie at our local, The Crown Hotel. Yum!

Drinking: To bubbles not troubles!

Posting: The recipe for these uber fudgy zucchini brownies.

Popping: Over to Mim’s blog to guest post and share some of my favourite zucchini recipes.

Celebrating: 17 years of marriage – time really must fly by when you are having fun.

Remembering: This time 17 years ago – so many happy memories!

Wedding

Sharing: 17 travel tips for married couples – one for every year we’ve been married!

Flying: To Belfast for a sneaky mini break at Galgorm Resort to celebrate my friend’s 40th birthday.

Spending: Some quality time with the girls.

Watching: James Blunt’s documentary One Brit Wonder and the amazing series A Small Light.

Crying: At One Day on Netflix. Pass the tissues please!

Listening: To Taylor Swift. After seeing everyone’s footage of the Eras tour my FOMO is real!

Adding: Another plant to my collection. Spoiler alert: It’s not dead yet!

Joining: In with Sherry and friends for the February edition of In My Kitchen.

Marvelling: At my new nails.

Winning: An Instagram competition for prints from the super talented Illustrations by Nomes.

Choosing: Some Stamford streetscapes, this one of Red Lion Street is one of my faves.

Feeling: Very lucky.

Loving: Spending time with fab friends.

Liking: Friday flowers!

Disliking: The rain and the subsequent flooding – yes, it happened again!

Learning: Spanish on Duolingo. I’m at the stage where I can order a beverage now!

Buying: This pink dinosaur pencil pot for my office.

Catching: Up with my lovely auntie and cousin in London town.

Getting: My hair did. Love my hairdresser!

Hosting: Our dear friends Joan and Beverley for the weekend.

Laughing: Till our sides hurt!

Dancing: The night away to 80’s tunes watching the cover band Wild Boys!

Booking: Some more mini breaks for later in the year. Is there such a thing as too many trips? I think not.

Exploring: The local countryside with my boys.

Trying: To workout with Joe Wicks most days. Teddy has other ideas with his version of downward dog!

Looking: Forward to spring.

Now I’ve told you about my February, I’d love to hear about yours. Tell me everything in the comments…
