Sticky Beef with Broccolini

Serves 4


1 tablespoon vegetable oil

2 cloves garlic, crushed

one thumb sized  piece fresh ginger, grated

350g minced beef

1/4 cup (60ml) chinese cooking wine

2 tablespoons hoisin sauce

1 tablespoon brown sugar

500g broccolini, trimmed

20g peanuts, crushed

1 fresh long red chilli, sliced thinly

How to

  1. Heat oil in wok and stir-fry garlic, ginger and beef until the beef is browned. Remove beef mixture from wok.
  2. Add cooking wine, sauce and sugar to wok; bring to the boil. Reduce heat; simmer, uncovered, for 1 minute. Return beef mixture to wok; stir-fry uncovered, about 2 minutes or until the beef is sticky.
  3. Meanwhile, boil, steam or microwave broccolini until tender; drain.
  4. Serve broccolini topped with beef mixture; sprinkle with  crushed peanuts and sliced chilli.
