Welcome to edition 77 of the Ultimate Rabbit Hole! If there was a bingo caller in the house, I’m sure they’d say something like “all the 7’s 77, Rabbit Hole Heaven!” There’s no time to waste, let’s hop to it, shall we?!
Yesterday was very exciting because it was National Maple Syrup Day. Now maple syrup is one of my all time favourite ingredients because it’s so delicious and it’s so versatile. That said, can I tempt you with Maple Cinnamon 3 Nut Butter, Maple Syrup Lamb Shank (in the slow cooker, no less!) or some Maple Syrup Dumplings? Oh, and let’s not forget my very own Maple Glazed Chicken which was one of my most delicious discoveries on the dreaded low iodine diet!
In other news, I love these 24 non-crap things to say to the sad person in your life. Saying something is better than nothing, but you want that something to be a good thing, am I right or am I right?!
Talking about sad people, how about sad news? There is just so much of it. I’ve been wearing my emotional raincoat like it’s going out of fashion. These tips on how to stay positive when the news is incessantly negative are going to come in very handy.
I do love me some morning routine and as much as I love my own, I love checking out what everyone else is doing too. When it comes to these morning routines of the mentally tough, you can totally teach an old dog new tricks. This old dog at least!
We’re past the halfway in winter mark down under and I’m already looking forward to resurrecting my herb garden in spring. These herb gardens for your home had me thinking outside the plant box!
Our big trip is fast approaching, six weeks and counting. Squee! I don’t want to pre-empt the flight situation but I’m bookmarking these 15 ways to survive airport delays… just in case!
I do like to contemplate the meaning of life, and lately, I’ve been contemplating the meaning of blogging, or my blogging, at least. I wonder what the point of it is, or if there is one at all. This post was a well timed reminder that in blogging, just as in life, your influence is immeasurable. Still on the subject of important reminders, here are some great tips on how to switch off and be more present. That’s why it’s called being present, because it’s a gift! Talking of gifts, here are 9 simple pleasures that don’t cost a thing except time.
And what is a rabbit hole without a puppy post? (The answer to that, is not a rabbit hole.) It’s impossible not to smile at these 15 dogs who are the captain now. If you don’t believe me, try it for yourself!
No wyou know how I’m heading off soon to run rings round Disney, well, we’re looking for a guest host to fill my running shoes around The Ultimate Rabbit Hole for every weekend in September while I’m away! Would you be keen? If you are drop me an email because we’d like to fill the guest spot in the next couple of weeks.
Now, before you head off into the sunset, tell me, do you love maple syrup too? How do you use yours? Have you got a herb garden? (If you have, I haven’t got green fingers, but I am green with envy!) What are your top tips for surviving an airport delay? Are you a morning person or a night owl? Have you got an emotional raincoat too? What’s your weekend plan? Tell me all the things!
Every Saturday morning, we will open up the rabbit hole link up for bloggers to add their link list posts or even just their favourite post (if you are not of the link list kind) for the week. Please link only one post. This makes it fair for everyone and allows more posts to be read. Talking of reading, do try and pop along to say howdee to some of the other lovely linkers. Link up here, over at Calm to Conniption or The Geeky Shopaholic. It doesn’t matter where you add your link because it will appear on all three blogs, as if by magic! The link up will stay open until midnight the following Monday.
