Taking Stock – November 2023

I honestly don’t know how it got to be December already but here we are. We are well into winter here in the UK and although it’s been cold, there has been plenty to warm the cockles of our hearts. If you’ve got a minute or a cuppa (and even better, both) come join me while I take stock of the month that was.

Weekending: In Newcastle and London.

Getting: A dose of vitamin sea – South Shields beach is stunning!

Celebrating: David’s mum’s birthday in Newcastle and our 19th meetaversary in London.

Wondering: Where all that time has gone… 19 years!

Snapping: A selfie in front of the pub where we first met. I don’t think selfies were a thing way back then!

Seeing: Elf on stage at the Dominion Theatre in London. Such a treat!

Being: A tourist outside Buckingham Palace. If you look carefully, you can see the sentry guard in the background.

Eating: My first proper dumplings in more than a year in Chinatown in London.

Having: A day trip to London to celebrate a special 70th birthday at Cahoots – such a fun venue!

Revisiting: This list of cracking Christmas movies.

Watching: Christmas movies – a Christmas movie a day keeps the doctor away. That’s my theory and I’m sticking to it.

Waiting: Not very patiently to open my Bonne Maman advent calendar.

Baking: These dairy free chocolate crinkle cookies. So good!

Cooking: Traybakes and one pots – the easier the better!

Making: A Christmas Rocky Road wreath – can’t wait to share the recipe with you soon!

Looking: Out the window at our new chalet AKA a very cute shed!

Loving: Winter skies.

Liking: Cosy nights in.

Sharing: The recipe for these yummy scrummy Bramley Apple Bars.

Learning: Hungarian via Duolingo. It’s such jolly fun.

Looking: Forward to our mini break to Budapest – our first time leaving the UK since we moved back.

Enjoying: The Christmas Fair at beautiful Burghley House.

Spending: Time with fabulous friends. This is one of the main reasons we came back we came back to the UK.

Hosting: Friends at home – even Teddy had a friend for a sleepover!

Putting: Up the Christmas tree. I really couldn’t wait any longer.

Marvelling: At the Christmas displays in Fortum and Mason and Libertys.

Adding: To our Christmas decoration collection. How could I not?

Swapping: The autumn garlands for a more Christmassy variety.

Walking: With Teddy and his friend, Louis.

Getting: Very muddy indeed.

Wearing: Christmas jumpers and Christmas earrings.

Buying: A new coat and thinking is this hood big enough?!

Pondering: If I’ve peaked Christmas too early. Although when it comes to Christmas, is there such a thing as too early?!

Wishing: I knew where the time goes. How did it get to be December already?!

Realising: My blog turned 12 this month. What a ride it’s been!

Now I’ve told you about my November, I’d love to hear about yours. Tell me everything!
