Taking Stock – March 2024

Well March flew by in the blink of an eye. We had fun with friends both home and away, the fair came to town and Easter came around. March looked a bit like this…

Making: Lots of curries for a curry night with friends. It was epic!

Cooking: My way through Recipe Tin Eats Dinner Cookbook. Everything is “chefs kiss!”

Experimenting: With my new Thermomix cutter… Coleslaw for days!

Using: The slow cooker function on my Ninja 15-in-1 for the first time to make this Slow Cooker Easy Beef Stew.

Eating: The most amazing German food at Steins Berlin in London.

Drinking: Cocktails and coffee but not at the same time!

Tasting: All the interesting varieties of hot cross buns – these were some of my faves.

Sharing: This eggstra special Easter recipe – Double Chocolate Hot Cross Brownies.

Baking: Quite a few batches of these – they were a big hit!

Adding: Some new plants to my collection.

Sharing: My top tips for where to eat in Budapest.

Sitting: Comfortably now we have some seat pads for our IKEA Odger chairs. No more numb bums for us!

Listening: To James Blunt on Spotify.

Watching: How to Get Away with Murder on Netflix. It’s an oldie but a goodie.

Getting: To see the UK touring production of Come From Away. It was magnificent!

Seeing: Les Miserables again. That show never gets old.

Singing: The soundtrack of Les Miserables. Sorry neighbours!

Reading: Unlocking Spanish with Paul Noble. Hope it’s as good as the audiobook!

Continuing: To be obsessed/learn Spanish with Duolingo.

Buying: A new iphone – I feel like I’m back in the 21st century!

Weekending: In London with our dear friends.

Strolling: The streets of Chelsea and feeling like a real city mouse.

Noticing: This bench in Fulham. What a wonderful idea!

Riding: On the front seat at the top of a London bus – we even saw a wedding on the Kings Road!

Loving: That the days are getting longer – our clocks changed at the weekend.

Liking: How dog friendly the UK is – check out this pup station at Aragon House in Parsons Green.

Disliking: All the crowds in central London. Urgh! So many people!

Spotting: Signs of spring – loving the stunning magnolias.

Marvelling: At my new nails.

Preparing: The guest room ready for this month’s visitors – we had a fast turnaround!

Having: My two oldest school friends over for a sleep over was an absolute delight and just like old times!

Enjoying: Being a tourist in my own beautiful little town.

Feeling: Proud that Stamford was named as one of the best places to live in 2024 by The Times.

Hosting: David’s sister and her partner for a long weekend.

Visiting: The fair – it comes to town every year at Lent.

Taking: Our visitors to beautiful Burghley House – the house and garden are open once again. Yay!

Hoping: For some drier days like this.

Digging: Out mine and Teddy’s Easter outfits!

Spending: Easter with good friends, we even had an egg and spoon race!

Linking: Up with Sherry for this months edition of In My Kitchen.

Bookmarking: All the things to see, eat and do for some upcoming getaways.

Looking: Forward to an action packed April.

Now I’ve told you about my March, I’d love to hear about yours. Tell me everything in the comments!
